“Running” In September:

While there haven’t been any cancellations or moves from live races to virtual as of yet and some of my larger races have dropped medal reveals it doesn’t mean we are out of the woods as races have been making last minute modifications to make things run smooth and safe. With my September race that was no exception. I ran the Fallen Heroes 5K as while there has been plenty of discourse when it comes to the police over the past year this race was run on the 20th anniversary of 9-11 so I had to sign up. Plus it was a new route for me so the chance of a local race not going around local lakes and/or through downtown was an added bonus in my eyes. For the “COVID” related changes all the post run awards would be cancelled and instead of start waves it would be an open start shoot from between 7-830 am Packet Pickup was a simple in/out drive in at the police station which was quick and convenient As for the race… We arrived to the parking area at 706 am only to be told the lots were full and...
