(Bonnet) Spring(s) has sprung…Bonnet Springs 5K 2023

  I love the smell of a new event especially when it brings a change of scenery at a new venue and so when I saw the runners club was hosting an event at a recently opened public park I couldn’t help but sign up Bib pick up was pretty simple with just a tent set up at the venue. Grab your bib & shirt and you are good to go! I slept through my alarm and when I did wake up I had a throbbing headache. Thankfully I still had ample time to ready myself and head to the venue and doubly thankful that by mile one the headache had subsided. My OOTD was my Everest 5k shirt (I briefly debated going with a tank instead) my blue livi skort and my elevens eggo bondi I arrived at the venue around 6:15 and used the restroom area that was there before following the pathway toward the starting area at 6:27 At 6:42 or most likely a few minutes earlier I was at the family lawn which was the bib pick up as well as the finish area. A Perfect Promise…Promise Run 2023

Well, that was fast. I’m off to the races again and back at it for the ninth annual Promise Run, the first after a two year virtual hiatus. The race is run through the local cancer center and for a brief moment I pondered wearing an honor bib for a podcast host who recently lost his battle with Leukemia, however at the end of the day it seemed kind of weird. It took a bit to settle on an ootd however after seeing a time hop post from 2019 saying how I miserable I felt due to heat I decided to dress cooler in my leopard print Livi tank, navy blue old navy shorts and “my not today vecna” bondi. I rewore my newer sneakers that I wore for the 15K as I’d done an additional 3.5 miles in them mid week and they were much more comfortable. I didn’t know if any issues from the week before would flair up and so my goal was just to finish, preferably under an hour.
