Higher Further Faster! June Marvel Virtual Shorts (Captain Marvel)

When I did my write up for the June Watermelon race I hinted that I'd do a brief write up of my virtual shorts as a forward to my next Watermelon report but then I figured why shouldn't I make a full post....

So when I first heard the theme of the fourth annual Disney Virtual Shorts was Marvel I was interested in running especially due to lack of Marvel in the East Coast parks and when I saw the medals I was sold... my first instinct was to either sign up for June OR August however with a bit of arm twisting I signed up for the full series...was it a chunk of change to essentially buy medals...yes however it was also another intensive to run outside this summer (sure technically you CAN run via treadmill but I set my own goals) That said at first my plans were to run the series with my sister who also signed up preferably at one of the Disney Hotel jogging trails however due to scheduling conflicts for June that wasn't meant to be and so I just ran around the block on my usual course...in fact I ran TWICE.

Wait...what...well you see I was all set to lock things in on June 22nd however when I got to the one mile point of my June 29th run I decided to just go for it and ever so slightly beat the previous Saturday's time.

Since this was done on my own time just down the street there are no photos or much to comment on....

OOTD was my Black and White Lane Bryant Capri's, 2015 Promise Run tech shirt and a scrunchi brand headband from the bargain bin of Walgreens as well as my normal grey New Balance

1.02 miles I paused for hydration (and realizing I wanted to run 5K that morning) my pace was already at 15'41 which was higher then the week before but I didn't care as running for my virtual wasn't my intention and besides the humidity was slightly more manageable despite being out approximately a half hour later then the prior week.

At about 1.65 miles I got to the end of the road and turned around pace dropped to 15'16 and was about 30 seconds better then what it was at that point the week before so now I was invested in beating my time!!!!

at 2.28 miles I was at my second water stop with my pace back up to 15'41 (hey that return trip is uphill-ish)

when I reached 3.1 miles I wasn't home yet but took a screenshot and I was at 48:54 with a pace of 15'46 this is what I'm logging as an official time despite by the time I made a full round trip in actuality I was 3.3 miles in 52:14 minutes
