My Magical Miles

  Happy Almost Halloween as I embark on 5K #34 The Legoland Brick Dash. This is the second theme park-based race that I’ve done as I’ve done 4 Run Disney weekends prior and have one planned in my next month. I wanted to get their early since when I went to get my bib on Thursday I was told I’d still have to wait in line day of for my tee shirt and I had wanted to be able to run it back to the car as well as stop at an outside venue prior to arrival to use the restroom…. However, nothing was open at 630AM and so while I ran to the port-o-let my mom took my ID and Bib and picked up my shirt which was great considering it was 641AM at this point and the race started at 7AM. I was a bit turned around and flustered while I gained my bearings and made my way to the staging area where there were MCs on stage hosting some warm up calisthenics until about 653am when they started the national anthem and I had to try to maneuver getting into my running belt that was tucked under my shirt to g...

  So....of the three cruise lines I've sailed one one of the checks in the pro column I have for Disney Cruise Line is the fact that they offer a 5K (Princess offered one as well but it was an additional fee/donation and the proceeds went to an organization that has a reputation of skimming a chunk off the top to their suits before actually giving to the cause but anyway....) This is the third time I've done this race and honestly I don't know if it was due to how brutal the summer and currently fall here in Florida has been or what but I didn't find the heat as grueling as it was the first two times I've ran .... And this time I didn't have a tank top on either as while people don't usually go all out dressing up like the weekends in the parks back in 2017 there was a family running in full on Peter Pan themed running costumes (son was peter, mom was tink, dad was hook) and so I decided to recycle my Rapunzel outfit from last falls Wine and Dine....
