Going The Distance Three Weekends In A Row: (Bonnet Springs/Springtime Surprise/Seven Seas Food Fest part 1)

So, if you read through my last two race recaps you’d have seen I ran 17.3 miles over two back to back weekends with my Gasparilla Challenge and Promise Run…. well I’m now embarking on a slightly slimmer 15.5 miles spread out over three weekends HOWEVER it’s starting to warm up and one of the weekends is going to be involving record heat…!!!

Instead of posting three separate recaps I’m just going to combine the three weekends, four races, and the chaos of a Rundisney expo in a single… two part recap…

First Up

BONNET SPRINGS 5K

Bib pick up for this was just a go to the venue tell them your number get your shirt and bib get out….

For the third year in as many events I had a mild headache the night before… gotta love consistency.

With my OOTD I followed in last years Princess DisneyBound trend by wearing my gold costume skort, a blue Gaim top that had been sitting in my closet and a red bondi

I arrived at 6am and parked right up front. I didn’t track how long the walk out was as I was right there. I used the restroom and did a weather check (62 feels like 61)

I hung around and took a few pictures before looking at last years recap to see what time I walked over to the staging area realizing that while in 2024 it started at 7am this year things didn’t start till 730am oops

At around 7am I did walk over seeing that I was in wave 7 out of 10

About 3 mins into things I had to tighten a shoe lace…but from than on I was moving and grooving

It was roughly 17 mins until I reached marker one with my Garmin buzzing I hit that point a minute later

About 13 minutes later I had finished the first loop and was at the water station. I debated getting a cup as I did have a bottle with me but it was so much colder than what I had that I was grateful I took it.

About 5 mins later I hit marker two and again my garmin buzzed about a minute later (35 mins cumulative)

18 mins later my garmin actually buzzed seconds before hitting marker three (53 mins cumulative)

My final time was 54:54 which is a 2025 PR so far…still 12 mins over my pre-pandemic record even though if felt like I was breezing through the course….

Finishing track was literally the countdown at the end of What It Tomorrow Comes from Black Friday which might be the most intense and awesome track yet….

After the race I noticed a box that took your photo and you could opt in on the photos being used on official socials of the event or just scan a QR code to save it to your own device which was fun

Calling all Heroes…. It’s time to suit up for this years Springtime Surprise Weekend…

Let’s start as always with the expo which I was bracing for the worst due to the big Brooks shoe drop and the announcement that there would be two queue drops.

We scored group 43 and like with W&D 2023 we’re stuck in traffic when called sometime around 10:53 but managed to tap in at 11:46.

When we arrived if you weren’t trying on/ getting a purchase slip for Brooks you bypassed the holding room and went into shop.

It took only 15 mins to get in and get out.

We grabbed bibs (A for the 5k and C for the 10k) and than headed into where the real crowds were at. The queue to meet Hercules & Meg.

We tag teamed in/out to use the restroom and do the other photo ops (Mr. Incredible, Groot Magic Shot and the mile markers which were moved in here) after around 85 mins Jess decided to risk it and pick up our shirts. She was back with time to spare with the line taking 140 mins total.

Avengers Assemble …or not as we are east of the Mississippi.

For this race we decided to dress MARVEL-ously with me as the scarlet witch.

For the look I made my skort and top and paired it with my crowned crimson witch accessories and my loungefly scarlet witch Minnie ears

At 2:06 we left the room—-at 2:21 we arrived at the bus area where a few buses were lined up and a dozen people were waiting. At 2:34 we were on the bus and at 2:37 we pulled out. We got to Epcot at 2:50 and security opened at 2:57!

We waited 3 mins for Pain and Panic, 31 for Groot, and 18 for Frozone. Edna was also out but we skipped her and there was a Baymax inflatable I didn’t track wait time.

Used a port o let, refilled my water bottle and did a weather check 71 feels like 71 94% humidity….

I was in my coral by 4:15

I was off… and during the first mile we had a screen playing the guardians of the galaxy trailer as well as a DJ and Moon Girl who was roughly a 5 minute wait.

I hit mile marker one in 20 mins 15 moving

There was a band backstage before entering Epcot. There was a photo opportunity with the Groot Topiary we skipped on and just great music and great vibes.

We reached Germany and there was some live entertainment of a band and in America was Doctor Strange.

It was about a 19 min wait and at least 7 of those he wasn’t even out yet…as we passed the Joffery’s cart next to the meet I just wanted an espresso martini!!!

As we exited his line my alarm noting that the last runners were just crossing the start went off.

The water stop was just after strange and in the next country of Japan was Duffy who we skipped as well as marker two

We reached that second marker in 55 mins…31 moving ones

At world showplace we waited 15 mins for Starlord and Gamora.

After this we skipped Mrs. Incredible and a ball picture up front. There was a DJ by the ball pic and a choir backstage

We reached market three in 1:29:00 …50 minutes moving

There was a springtime Minnie on the scaffold with an time of 1:32:29 … 53:29 moving which makes yet another 2025 PR team 10 mins longer on course but roughly the same moving time
