Summer Running Round Up 2025

I had all intents and purposes to make my Red White and Brew recap separate from my summer series run down but days went by then weeks and then I decided to just lump everything together so let’s get that one out of the way first.

This year's event once more started and ended at a local brewery and honestly after two years I kind of like this newer set up vs running around the parking lot of a local shopping plaza.

This year there was a day before pick up and so instead of arriving at 5:50 AM I got to sleep in a little and didn’t arrive until 6:21… I sat in the car for about 10 mins before walking over to the start area.

My OOTD for this run was my Red Blogalaties Skort, Blue Sewn Shirt originally made for my Belle costume and my Powerful Hermana Crowned accessories as well as the Red gloves worn for my Scarlet Witch costume

The weather that morning was 75 feels like 78 at the start.

I didn’t take many notes for this or the Watermelon Series. I mainly noted my splits, weather, OODT as mentioned above as well as my finish line needle drops and so while I’m recapping seven runs technically this will be very short and sweet.

That said, my first mile split was 16:52 minutes long, my second mile split where we also had our water spot was 17:01 miles (for 33:53 total), my third mile split was 17:30 (51:23 total) with two minutes of this mile running on brick paths and a finish time of 54:13 (with a few moments having to pause for a train to go by) I went through 17 songs on my playlist with my finish line needle drop being ZERO TO HERO from Hercules

Now onto my Watermelon Series for the year…. This year once again I had a love/hate relationship with things however it was all worth it as this years medals were truly the best ones yet.

In June I was in wave 7/10. I began my walk at 6:27 and got to my coral spot at 6:37

Weather Wise it was 76 feels like 78 at the start

My outfit was my Pink TekGear tank, green sewn skort and one of my watermelon bondi’s

My first mile split was 16:44, my second mile split was 18:47 (35:31 total) with pausing about two to three minutes to help a small child who had been sitting on the side of the path dehydrated and than ultimately getting to the water station (after passing the kid off to their adult) my third mile was at 17:51 (53:22 total) with my finish time being 56:16

I hit 17 songs on my playlist with my finisher song being REMEMBER ME from Coco

In July I was in wave 10/10 which one of my gripes of this race is not putting you consistently in the same wave the whole series and not penalize slower runners who purposely self seed to be in the middle of the pack to avoid being run down by strollers for being slower…just saying

Anyway, I walked out from my car at 6:16 and reached the further line up spot at 6:27. The road wasn’t closed yet and I could feel my ankles getting chewed up by bugs and my socks getting soaked from the wet grass I’d been waiting on.

At 75 feels like 77 it was only one degree cooler than June but somehow felt like it was more so than that.

My OOTD was my Green Livi set and my Bayou Princess Crowned Ball Cap and Hair Accessories

My first mile was 17:05 which was more than last month due to needing to re tie my shoe right out of the gate. My second mile was 17:24 (34:29) . In this mile we had our water stop and I tossed one of my bottles I had on person in the garbage. My cumulative time was also better than last at this point. Mile three was 17:46 (52:10) still a slightly lower cumulative than June with my final time being 55:18 just under a minute LESS than last month.

My Series Total at this point was 1:51:31 (about 9 ish miles over my 10K PR)

Playlist wise I went through 16 songs with my finish song being EVER AFTER from Cinderella’s Castle

In August I was also wave 10/10 and walked out from my car at 6:19 and corralled at 6:30. Again I had to stand in the grass to wait a while.

The weather was once more 75/77 like last month and once again felt fairly nice for summer.

My OOTD was my pink Blogalatis skort, green Sewn top from my miss piggy costume and one of my watermelon bondi’s. I also wore my Golden Dreamer crowned ballcap

Mile one I reached in 17:45 which was my longest intro mile this series. Mile two which included the water stop was 18:37 (36:32) which once again was my longest time of the series. Mile three was 18:16 (54:48) with my final time being 57:26 my highest of the series.

My overall series time was 2:48:57  which is roughly 29 mins over my 15K PR

I didn’t note how many songs my playlist cycled through but my finish song was THE SCHUYLER SISTERS from Hamilton

Finally was my Run Disney Virtual Shorts. These were more fun runs so I was more running to earn my bling than for an actual time.

The theme for this summer’s series was park based and I made my OOTDs loosely themed to the attractions featured.

For June’s Pirate’s themed race my OOTD was my black livi skort, POTC Reel Legends Shirt, and a pirate bondi, for July it was Jungle Cruise themed and I wore my brown sewn skort originally made for Chip, my brown Avia tank and my brown bondi and for August it was Thunder Mountain themed and I wore the same skort as July just with a blue old navy tank and a bandana bondi

Weather ranged from 78-81 degrees with a feels like of 81-84

My First Run was 1:05:34

My Series time after my second run was 2:09:13 (27 mins over my 10K PR)

My Series time after my third run was 3:12:27 (53 mins over my 15K PR)
