Some miles are worth melting for Wine and Dine 2025
It’s time again for another RunDisney rundown…
We got a super early VQ (number 21) and we’re called right at 10am when the expo opened. While we made good time to arrive at the event by 10:55 the walk to the arena was a slog however we were able to tap in at 11:05 no problem
They brought everyone into the holding room which was confusing as one side of the room had signs saying trying on shoes and one side said buying shoes. The people entering before me asked if they had to wait even if they were just wanting to browse pins and when they were told yes I followed suit.
It was only an 8 min wait and we entered the shopping area where we got our usual items. While I was bummed they didn’t do bracelets again I did splurge and get the compression socks.
When we exited there was a long line wrapped around to get into the field house which took about 25 mins.
The characters were Mushu & Olaf and since neither were new to us we decided to just get our bibs and go.
As you exited the line looped right in to get to the athletic center which was only about a two min queue to enter.
We were pleased the mile numbers moved in here as we totally forgot to look for them in field house.
After that we got our shirts, eyeballed the venders and took a RunDisney photopass pic
Overall it was about two hours.
“Hello! Would You Like to Hear the TRUE STORY of the Snow Queen?”
I knew with the Olaf theme I HAD to pay homage to Robert Lopez & Josh Gad and do a Book of Mormon/Frozen mash up.
Skort: home sewn re-worn from Ember
Top: Kohls brand (TekGear)
For the hat I bought it at target and added felt/eyes/pipe cleaners…for the book I upcycled my copy of Shane Dawson’s “I hate my Selfie”
At about 2:35 someone came over with a vest and clipboard and at 2:47 a bus pulled up and loaded us and maybe 2-3 others. He asked if he stopped at the other stops and was told to wait till 3 to leave which he did. The driver made stops at just the north and west depots not the south (main) one before heading out. We got to Epcot around 3:11 and after a restroom stop it was 3:19
We looked at the character lines and decided to wait for Mushu as nobody was over there and it ended up being a 6 min wait.
It was still five mins before the corals opened so we got in line for Chip and Dale as they were in their waiter outfits which we’ve never met them in. The wait was about 17 mins
The other characters out were Olaf as well as chef Donald & Daisy.
We headed to our corals after taking a final port o let stop. I was in C while my sister was in D so the plan was since she was actually faster than me (her name just fell alphabetically on the wrong end of the cut off) I’d go ahead and wait in a character line for her to catch up.
I did a weather check and at 4:08 when I locked into the coral it was 67 degrees feels like 64 with 80% humidity
The course was new and one of my favorites as we started on parking lot/roadways with a marching band and the Duke from Frozen. As he was a super rare character I hopped in line and waited about 4 mins for him… my sister joined me and 2 mins later we met him (6 mins total)
We decided she’d now go ahead and hold space in a character line.
I hit up mile one in 23 mins (17 moving) and continued on the roadway. There was our first water stop as well as entertainment in two DJs, a video screen looping a scene from Frozen 2, and various vegetable pun signs from the food bank that was the charity sponsor.
Just shy of mile 2 we entered Epcot in world discovery and aside from a few backstage areas and crescent lake it was ALL PARK from here!
I hit mile two in 41 mins (35 moving)
I passed by Starlord & Gamora meeting by their ride and listened as my garmin buzzed I reached 10,000 steps (my overall total for the day was 38,525)
The course made its way towards world showcase where chef Minnie was meeting just before Mexico (swapping with Mickey) and Anna & Elsa were meeting in Norway.
I caught up with my sister in Italy where she’d been waiting about 2 mins for Pinocchio and in the 4 I had joined her we found a leaked list of who else would be out and made a tentative plan. Also at this time the Balloon Ladies started. It was 6 mins total for the meet and he was swapping out with Gepetto
There was the second water stop and finally I reached mile three in 1:05:00 (55 moving)
In France Remy was meeting but I zipped past and tapped the 5k mat with an official split of 1:06:56 (56:56 moving)
Just on the boardwalk by cake bake shop was stitch and by Atlantic Dance was chef Goofy. If we didn’t have a leaked list we probably would have hopped into the latters line as it was fairly short however we were on a mission.
I hit mile four at 1:24:00 (1:14:00 moving)
There was a final water stop and another DJ before heading back to Epcot and joining my sister in a queue at World Showplace where the fairies from sleeping beauty were alternating with Phillip. She had waited about 3 mins and was told getting in line she’d be meeting Phillip however a lot of people left when they thought they couldn’t see the fairies and by the time I joined her and waited another 2 mins for a 5 min wait overall we met the fairies
After a screen posting scenes from The Emperors New Groove I hit mile five in 1:46:00 (1:34:00 moving)
There were some cool signs with frozen quotes
And soon getting onstage we reached where Kronk was meeting (alternating with Yzma) the plan was for my sister to wait there for me however despite the balloon ladies still being roughly a half hour behind the line was already closed. Was it actually already capped or was it just temporarily held due to the end of the line extending into a narrow piece of course…we may never know.
We pivoted…I’d meet her in mirabel and Bruno’s line instead…however it was selfie only so she dipped in and out and headed to chef Pluto’s line.
Because of the time she took waiting for her Encanto selfie I arrived seconds after her and waited 6 mins for a pic
After this we stayed together passing a school band in the park before heading back out backstage and into the parking lot.
We saw the choir and hit marker six in 2:12:00 (1:54:00 total)
We finished with an official time of 2:16:00 (1:58:00 total)
