Running for the Booty: Gaspirilla 2017
So let me get started by saying my last three work outs were actual lake runs...yea!
HOWEVER, after weeks and weeks or nice comfortable cool weather in the 50s/60s today's race was in the low-mid 70's...boo
Anyway, so a small part of me does wonder if we should of signed up for the run instead considering the last wave/heat/corral/whatever was just about to go off by the time we made it to the start (and that was with a pit stop in an actual bathroom first)
So, I didn't expect to beat the 14:30 m/m from Mayfair which I still swear was a fluke however I did beat last years 16:41 minute mile so I am pleased. OFFICIALLY I clocked in with a time of 47:39 and a 15:20 m/m overall... UNOFFICIALLY via my FitBit where I hit start when the foghorn rang and stop as I staggered over the finish line toward the medal station I clocked in at 47:51 with a 14:58 m/m though I also clocked in at 3.2 miles due to weaving.
I probably could of pushed myself farther though there were a few factors that caused me to ease back but since this is the internet I don't want to dole out the TMI
for being an anniversary year the shirts and medals were the best yet but the post race area was nothing to write home about and I wish I timed how long it took between finishing to getting in the car.
Next week is the second race of my first back to back with Promise Run. It will be a solo go where as of now my weather app lists it as 77/57. My second back to back is April with Castaway Cay/March of Dimes on April 22/29 respectively
