New Year New PR: Bulldog Blitz Race Report

So at first I was worried as it was a 'trail run' and I didn't want this to be like the color runs where I spent more time worried about tripping over branches then anything else... thankfully things were paved.
The check in area/race start had the worst energy level of any race... there were two tables one for pre regestered runners and one for day of sign ups and eventually the school mascot came out

About five minutes before the race we were lead over to the start of the trail....

This was probably one of if not the smallest field of runners/walkers I've raced with as since this was a school fundraiser most participants were the Elementary School students, faculty, and parents though I didn't feel like an odd duck so that was good.
The course was pretty much an out and back strip with not much to see aside from some Llamas through the trees at about a mile and a quarter

At the halfway turn and water stop I managed to take a quick screenshot of my fitbit display... with weaving I was technically at 1.53 miles with a pace of 13:53 and an elapsed time of 20:53.... I was on the fast track to a PR and I was thrilled!!!!
With weaving my fitbit reached 3.1 miles just shy of the finish area and in that moment with a screenshot showing my pace was 14:00 and my elapsed time was 43:27 I knew for a fact that my PR dream would in moments be a reality though I really wished this was a timed race....

This was my final official time according to me stopping my fitbit as I was handed my medal.... I beat my time by four seconds!!!!! Here is hoping I make this time or less for Gaspirilla where it is officially timed

All and all despite the cold and the low energy it was a fun time
