2019 BULLDOG BLITZ RACE REPORT:

So last year through internal emails at my moms work she had heard of a small 5K that was being run as a fund raiser of a neighboring Elementary school and so I signed up.... it was really low key and chill but hey...I somehow had managed to make it a PR (it was a non timed race so a PR by fitbit tracking standards)

Again it was rather no frills at the staging area where they had a table for pre-registered runners and day of sign ups and I was rather impressed to see that this year they gave out a long sleeve technical shirt instead of the cotton t-shirt from last year....maybe all but a handful of runners were wearing the race shirt but I decided to rely on my Disgust RunDisney shirt (where I received a few complements) and a pair of LIVI leggings with a mesh skirt attached paired with my grey Fresh Foam Ashari's and my black sparkle headband (I kind of want to do OOTD's for my runs this year lol)

unlike with last year they just had some music blasting (though I was zenning out with my own stuff instead of the mash up of Kidz Bop and Jock Jams) but that was it no mascot....
We got walked over to the entrance of the trail and the coach who was running the event gave a pep talk and took a group selfie before we were off.

Like I said last year it was a no frills straight shot route where .96 miles into things the first person passed me on the other side and by 1.10 the first actual kid passed me (there were maybe only two or three other adult runners in between....

It was soon after that I arrived where the LLamas were and wondered if they were inside due to the recent cool weather we've been having (race day was comfortable in the low 60s)
At the halfway turn around I clocked in at 1.54 with a pace of 14:01 and an elapsed time of 21:37 which was only about forty four seconds more then what I was at last year so I could of easily made it a new PR .

Between markers 1 and 2 I did finally see Llamas but my photo was blurred I also noticed random stretching platforms at the side of the road which were so clever do other trails have these?

It was soon after the second mile sign I decided to not push myself for a PR as this is an un-timed race so there wasn't as much pressure and so with that said my final time was 46:02 which was only a minute and forty nine seconds over my record set last March during Promise run....
