Perfectly Kicking Cancer's But: A Promise Run 2019 recap:

WOW....so I can't believe my 30th Road Race is in the books...who saw that coming back in 2015 when I ran this races inaugural year as my second ever run.....

This year Packet Pickup moved from the Cancer Center to the new Woman and Children's hospital but it was the same quick in and out without bells and whistles though this year I put in to get my shirt a size smaller thinking that they were unisex and last years was huge and worse case scenario if it was too snug I could always modify it.... the shirt which was my second teal shirt of the year fit great but I decided to go with a bit of a Kim Possible DisneyBound Vibe with the black Xersion top I got for my Kylo Ren RunDisney Look and an Olive Livi Active Skort paired with my red sparkle headband and my grey Fresh Foam Arishi’s

This Year the staging was pretty much the same however from the direction I came in I didn't notice the long line of Port O Lets or if the Public Park's rest area was open and so I decided against nursing the rest of my water as I knew that since most of the course was in residential areas there would be NO ON COURSE POTTY STOPS ....this would be a mistake that would bite me in the butt....

As the staging signs went up a lady behind me who was looking for an 11 m/m sign said so...they want you to run this bitch in 27 minutes or your a 'walker'....yea pretty much in these local races I've observed

I thought I was doing well for myself clocking in my first mile with a 13:42 split and well on my way to breaking last years PR even after stopping to take a few snapshots of the swans

Turning on the first residential street my allergies were beginning to get the better of me as someone was mowing their lawn however I managed to go the .40 more miles to where the two water stops were mear steps apart the first one with a volunteers as Santa and his Elves blasting Christmas Music in MARCH...

By the time I reached Mile Marker 2 I thought to myself maybe I can make it the next 1.10 miles in 14 minutes if I bolt for it...after all my projected average pace at that moment was 14'41 m/m so there was still in my mind hope that I'd PR or get close to it however with the humidity and my attempt to push myself without extra hydration by 2.75 miles I was visibly shaking and really felt like pulling over to the side and taking myself out of the race....
Nevertheless I persisted and finished with in 48:06 (up significantly from last years 44:13) and a 15'31 m/m {unofficially my time was off by a second but like Gaspirilla my fitbit was about 40 seconds less per mile then official results)
