Running Is Uncancled Part 2:
There are some days that despite the summer storms and Florida humidity running is the only thing that makes me feel anymore for better or worse….more then likely as aside from going to work it’s the only thing not canceled (well aside from organized races for the moment but for now we make due….) And so with Run The Edges ‘Uncancled Project’ done (for now) added to the fact that last weekend would of been the first of the Summer Sunrise Watermelon series I figured I’d give a recap as to what’s been going on in my running life.
I’ve said before group runs are an unknown and while my Summer Watermelon Series has been canceled and there is about a 50% chance Mayfaire & Aching Quad will happen and a 30% chance Rock and Roll & Wine & Dine will actually happen I’ve signed up for two more event runs.

I mentioned this in the last posting...as it stands now only 25% of bibs were released in the hope that a smaller capacity will help keep it on the calendar. It will be a really interesting weekend in general as it stands as with room only reservations closed off for the time being mixed with rumors that only the high end deluxe resorts will be open for the foreseeable future it may turn into me staying off property at the marriott going for my run and then taking medal pictures at Disney Springs….But hey the key art makes me thing the 10K could be Chip and Dale themed so
But that’s still months away as is Gaspirilla where I caved and signed up for the Stella Solstice Challenge (formerly Lime Cactus and Bud Light Orange) since if the race can’t be run it WILL be Virtual and do I really want my first half to be unofficially timed looping up and down my street?

Plus look at this new logo it’s so cute I couldn’t help but do the challenge to get more swag with it!
And now for the Uncancled Project… I never took a photo of the medal yet and so that will have to wait till my next update in the meantime here were my themes and once again I ran more for mileage then time (since while the medal was added this batch I didn’t want to change up my system)
DREAMS: 3.3 miles 56:04
KINDNESS: 3.29 miles 54:06

COMMUNITY: 3.32 miles 54:37
PERSEVERANCE: 3.31 miles 56:28
LIFE: 3.13 miles 52:36
Other challenges/races that I’ve made mention of in my last posting that are complete or are still ongoing are the 863 Strong Virtual Full in which I ran 26.2 miles segmented over 25 days in 7:08:15 with a pace of 16’21

The COVID 19 Benefit (results posted in previous entry)

My Run Disney Virtual Short series

My time was 50:46 16’21 m/m not my best but unlike uncanceled I was TRYING to run for time though wet pavement and humidity really didn’t help much
Miles For Scholarships
Instead of the Summer Sunrise Watermelon series the local running club is doing a community event to still raise money for scholarships while motivating people to get out in a socially distanced manor to run. There is a 200 mile virtual map but you can set as much or as little as you want for your personal 12 week goal. Right now my goal is 78.6 aKA a Marathon a Month and I’m 25.7% of this goal with 20.18 miles moved so far in June
With everything so uncertain I’ll probably post a run down sometime in Aug----
